Happy Fourth of July: Watch a Wonderful American

The video below is my special treat to American fans of rhythmic gymnastics. It presents a gymnast who did not become as famous as she deserves: Jessica Davis. I have had the pleasure to watch her perform at the "Julietta Shishmanova" International Tournament in Sofia in the mid 1990s. I thought she had nice pivots and jumps and showed lot of elegance.

With this, I really hope that our favorite sport will earn more fans here in America...

...so that more people can create and admire beauty and athleticism!

Prayer for Belarus and Bulgaria

Hello dear fans,

You may have heard that this Wednesday the Bulgarian writer Dimiter Kenarov has been arrested and detained in Belarus without just cause. The media has reported that the reason for his arrest was the fact that he did not have his identification documents with him. I find that hard to believe, frigthening and morally repugnant.

I have nothing left to do or say except that I still hope this situation resolves with responsibility and grace. Here is favorite routine of a gymnast from Belarus in lieu of a protest, or a poem:
